I am no blood clotting factor expert, there is much on the internet about this subject and a lot that a doctor can tell you. This is just to say a few things that I have learned from my experience. Tests for blood clotting factors are expensive and rarely done. Mine was done after my stroke and after I told them that my father also had the same factor. It helped the doctors explain the stroke.
I took blood thinners for a time after my stroke and now I take baby aspirin. This is the action I basically chose after talking to several doctors, they all seemed to have very strong but differing opinions and ultimately it was my decision. One thing that I have read and was confirmed by all doctors is that movement is key to keeping blood clots at bay. This is the reason it is recommended to move around when traveling by air and stop and get out of the car when traveling by land.
